I am SCARED to STAY

For the past 6 months, I have been confused about what to do after my under-graduation- do a job in an MNC or go to abroad for higher studies. I was in dilemma if I could survive being alone in a different country without my mom picking up after my mess and dad not giving me pocket money whenever I want. But after hearing the news about the doctor Priyanka Reddy , I am questioning my own safety in my own country and I can't wait to leave.

People reading this might think that I am being irrational/I don't love my country/How are others leaving in this country and all. To answer this question, I would like to answer that I don't want to take a risk and be a victim, a risk which might be even a 0.00000001.

What is happening in this country?Why aren't we just hanging the people or just shooting them in the public? Why are they getting arrested only to be released on bail later? Why did Nirbhaya's case become a country outrage and not Priyanka's? Why are juveniles pardoned in the crimes?

A crime is a fucking crime, be it an minor or an adult.

I got shocked when I heard the news of Priyanka's death and right after that I started feeling scared. Scared of strangers,scared of going out alone,scared for my parents and loved ones, scared to the point that I want to get out. Is this how other women feel too ?

My dad sent me all the safety and police numbers you know just to be safe, but for how long ?

How long are we going to tell women to be careful? Rather than telling men to behave ?

How many deaths should happen for the government to start taking a strict action instead of being focused on their own internal drama?

Day by Day, we are losing faith in the humanity,in the government and I would rather not stay where I don't feel safe.

Because let me be the one to say, I AM SCARED TO STAY.
